What is The Release?

The Release is a Caribbean entertainment, lifestyle television program and entertainment website. The show showcases new releases and reviews in music, food, fashion and technology attracting a variety of target groups. The average viewer is ages 14 – 55 years old male and females that have an interest in one or more of the four themes we showcase.

International Appeal

The Release showcases Caribbean content from islands in the Caribbean, the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. We presently have active teams in New York and Florida in the USA and purchase content from other markets. The content is in turn edited to the nature of show. Our main office is in Kingston, Jamaica.

For fashion we showcase new releases in fashion, features on top Caribbean designers, coverage of major fashion shows and fashion trends. In food, we showcase new chefs on the rise, new food trends, food festival highlights, and new recipes. While in technology we showcase new tech trends, new technologies and their features and new inventors.

Branches

The Release is registered for television, radio, web and print. We are presently expanding on television and have launched our web site www.thereleaseja.com. The next leg is radio by 2019 and in 2020 we aim to launch our official print and e-magazine. The Release is registered as The Release Production in Jamaica.

Annual Activities in Jamaica

The Release & Purple Slush Foundation Charity for Children

The Release alongside the Purple Slush Foundation hosts an annual fun day that gives back through a Pack-A-Bag Campaign. This campaign solicits local and international sponsorship to help donate school bags and stationery to needy students. Activities leading up to the fun day are showcased on The Release.

The Release Innovation Challenge Community College Tour

This tour targets all 8 Community Colleges in Jamaica. We challenge students to be innovators addressing the need for new inventions and technologies. We host seminars and have great performances.

The Release Street Recognition Awards

The Release believes in promoting and endorsing street culture. We award deejays and other dancehall influencers on their turf and broadcast it on television. These individuals have assisted in building the dancehall culture but are often forgotten.
