Shifta’s New Single, ‘Sex You Up’ Turns Heads The Release December 21, 2022 Entertainment Gearing up to release a stellar album featuring collaborations with Konshens, Jah Cure, Cecile, and international rapper Too Short, recording artiste Shifta has released the 1st single off the project. The song called ‘Sex You Up’ samples Color Me Badd’s single ‘I Wanna Sex You Up’ and has been turning heads with its sultry, smooth flow. Shifta has always been a big fan of R&B music, inspired by the likes of Babyface, Boyz 2 Men, and Luther Vandross. “This single is a sample of one of my favourite R&B throwbacks. The female voice on this track is Che’nelle, who worked on another single called ‘Do You Wanna’ with me. That song went number 1 on the iTunes reggae charts back in 2015 and our collective EP ‘You and I’ in that same year debuted on the Billboard Charts. It was a no-brainer to get her on this track” said Shifta. ‘Sex You Up’ is one of the 7-tracks that will be featured on Shifta’s debut album. “The album is yet to be named but will be released in the month of love, February 2023. Before its release, I will be dropping ‘Body Dey’ with Konshens. The songs on this album cater to all fans but I know the ladies will be treated extra special”, added Shifta. The Miami-based dancehall artiste reigns from Barbican in Kingston, Jamaica. He is known for singles such as ‘Diki Diki’ featuring King Goyi, ‘It’s Going Down Tonight’ featuring international recording artiste Pleasure P, and ‘Do You Wanna’ featuring Che’nelle, to name a few. He has received support for his music on MTV, ABC Local 10, and several major local platforms in Jamaica. Shifta is set to visit Jamaica in January to begin promotions for his album.
